AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE COUNTY
SPEED LIMIT FOR BARTER ROAD
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Posey County, Indiana, as the executive and legislative body of Posey County, have the power to adopt and amend ordinances relating to the administration of Posey County government; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Posey County is responsible for setting speed limit rates for Posey County roads; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Posey County find it necessary, for safety reasons, to lower the speed limit on Barter Road from Forty (40) miles per hour to Thirty (30) miles per hour between Cab om Road and Ford Road.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Posey County that the speed limit on Barter Road between Caborn Road and Ford Road be lowered from Forty (40) miles per hour to Thirty (30) miles per hour.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage by the Board of Commissioners of Posey County, Indiana, and following publication as provided by I.C. 5-3-1.
Following a unanimous vote by the Board of Commissioners of Posey County to waive second reading of this Ordinance, it was finally passed by the Board of Commissioners of Posey County following a first reading on this 6th day of May, 2026.
