NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Town of New Harmony will hold a public hearing on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. at New Harmony Town Hall, 520 Church Street, New Harmony, Indiana, to provide all interested citizens with the opportunity to present comments on the proposed application to the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Planning Grant Program. The Town Council meeting will follow immediately after the public hearing. The Town intends to apply for funding to support an infrastructure planning study focused on evaluating and improving the Town’s wastewater systems. The study will assess current conditions, identify deficiencies, and develop a phased capital improvement plan. The total project is estimated to cost $35,000, with $30,000 in grant funds requested and $5,000 committed as local match. The Town encourages participation from all residents, especially those with low- and moderate-incomes. Persons requiring accessibility or language assistance who wish to attend should contact the Clerk’s Office at (812) 682-4846 at least 48 hours in advance. Written comments may be submitted prior to the hearing to townofnewharmony@gmail.com.
