Donald Ray “Don” Abernathy, 80, of Wadesville, Indiana, passed away on March 16, 2026, in Evansville, Indiana. Born in Evansville to Joe and Mary Elizabeth “Sissy” Abernathy, Don attended Rex Mundi High School. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart and was later honorably discharged as a Sergeant.
