Luo, Zhao Xing

Luo, Zhao Xing, 72, of Zhaoqing, China, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 27, 2026.

Born in Luo Ding, China, she grew up during the hardship and upheaval of China’s Cultural Revolution. She later met and married Chen, Yu Ping, and together they raised two daughters — the younger born just two weeks before the start of China’s one-child policy. To her daughters, she was not only a mother but a friend and a steadfast advocate.

She is survived by her husband, Chen Yu Ping; her daughters, Patricia (Joshua) Hammond-Kelley of Posey County, Ind., and Chen, Jian of Guangzhou, China; and her grandchildren, Joshua (16), Judah (15), Jerusha (14), and Joelle (11) Hammond-Kelley.
